IMPORTANT!! : This WAD is tested to run ONLY with
GZDoom 1.4.8. I may work with older
versions, but it has not been tested.
This map makes HEAVY use of jumping,
			  crawling, and all GZDoom enhancements!
Things like particle trees and grass,
			  nearly all lighting using brightmaps,
true room above room 3D floors all over...
I hope you'll find this is a great looking
			  level.

: This level is dedicated to Graf Zahl for
all his tireless work on GZDoom. Because
of him, I get to enjoy Doom as it was
meant to be played any time I want! Thanks,
man, and I hope this level make you proud!

Level Synopsis

E2M4 was always my favorite level in Doom. Perhaps it was the music,
which scared my little pants off, or maybe it was the creepy use of
weird textures and dark areas. Whatever it was, as a 9th grader
playing it for the first time, I LOVED this level. Today, when I looked
around and found that there were woefully few maps that used
GZDoom's enhancements, it was a natural choice to remake this map!

I had to decide what this map was about. I looked at the large pool
of Nukage at the beginning, and the vine covered room at the end...
And then it hit me! Maybe UAC was trying to reclaim the nukage and
use it as fertilizer or some kind of plant growth stimulant!
Of course, all the vines were dead, so I decided that maybe
things hadn't worked as well as they hoped...one of the final rooms
in the map gives valuable insite into what UAC is REALLY doing with
the nukage.

So I had my theme. As you play through the level, pay attention to
the architecture, and it will, I hope, tell a little story about this
facility and what went on here.

* Play Info *

Engine required : GZDoom 1.4.8 or later. Earlier versions MAY work
Level # : Maps 01 to 03
Single Player : Yes
Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes, but it struggles occasionally with
rooms that may trap one or the other player
(E.G. the crusher room early on in the level)
Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No
Difficulty Settings : Yes. This is a TOUGH level, designed to challenge
Doom Pros! If you aren't that great at Doom, you
may want to drop down to an easier difficulty!
This WAS tested and is beatable on all but
			  Nightmare, though!

New Sounds : Lots of ambient sounds

New Graphics : Tons, many sprite res increases, many texture
detail increases, new monsters, lense flares, etc.

New Music : Yes! Two of my own songs, and a cover of Robert
			  Prince's original E2M4 song!

* Construction *

Base : Levels 01-03 Scratch levels

Editor(s) used : Doom Builder 1, XWE, Photoshop CS4, Gimp,
			  Adobe Audition 3, Reason 4

Build time : Couple of months

Known Bugs : A few missaligned textures, and a railing that moves
out of sync with its post on a couple elevators.
As this is a COMPLEX GZDoom exclusive map, there
can be some slowdown on lesser computers. I recommend
at LEAST a GeForce 6600 and a 2 GHZ Pentium IV.

Unknown Bugs : Is this a joke? How would they be unknown if I know
			  about them?
