=======================https://youtu.be/uPjIdE3soQI?t=46========================
I like writing these paragraphs. It's mostly for my own amusement at this point.
It's also to capture my state of mind while I'm working and then one day I can
look back and say 'what the fuck was I doing with my life lmao'.

I think the big motivation for this map pack was trying to see if I could spark
just a bit more life into a game that's quickly losing interest with itself.
Put simply, it doesn't feel like people are happy with each other anymore. I
don't think people can be happy with each other until they learn to be happy on
their own. The problem is that the community refuses to touch base often and
kinda drops the game without ever bringing up the issues that made them want
to leave in the first place. Some issues CAN be fixed, but if you keep sweeping
everything under the rug, how are you going to keep things clean?

Maybe people really do get bored and just move on to the new shiny thing. I've
already spending more time with other games than I'm spending with MM8BDM. It's
not like I have anything left to prove in this game except for finishing AMP2.
Still, I think the desire to prove myself IS what kept me around for so long. I
wanted to prove I could host a map competition so I did it. I wanted to prove I
can host a tournament and I did it. I wanted to prove I could win a tournament
and I did that. But along the way, it always felt like I was pushing away people
that I didn't really mean to push away. My goal was always to do my best and
show what I could do. Even if people don't like me as a person, they need to at
least respect the hustle. It's the only way stuff gets done around here.

I was not born into a relaxing suburban neighborhood, I was born in Portland's
ghetto and had to work my way up from there. Please remember that next time you
wonder why I acted so tough on people. But please remind me that I shouldn't
be dumping my stress or trauma onto others. I still fuck that up sometimes. That
is my fault. I owe 604 and Spider an apology for that. I never expect to be
forgiven which is why I never apologized. But I still owe them that. So if either
of you are reading this, please know that I apologize and will be nicer to you
both in the future. You didn't deserve that harsh treatment. You deserved good
honest feedback, not a bully throwing a tantrum.

Back to me stroking my ego:
I feel like Gibus and I have to do EVERYTHING around here to see something done.
The feeling gets exhausting but it never gets me down, weirdly enough. I just
keep going and see how far I can go with something and then only stop once I
feel I can't do anything else. I left Sharp once I felt I couldn't really do
anything inside the clan anymore. It doesn't surprise me most of the clan moved
on to other games. They probably felt like there was nothing left to do inside
the game either. Sometimes I wonder if other devs or modders feel the same way.
Like, the weight of the game rests ENTIRELY on their shoulders and they bare the
burden for the sake of the community. This is the part where I need to give
Geekie, Trillster (:nerd:), Ehibika, Eclipse, and MegaVile their flowers too.
I hope none of you feel discouraged. Just know that I'm in this game with you
too. I hope we can keep each other going. Just to say we left our mark.

There's still SOMETHING I want to do in the game before I really leave (for good
this time, not like a hiatus). I still want to finish AMP2. At least then I feel
like I've done everything I could inside this game. And then after that, people
can just take the content I made and keep going. Let other people try their hand
at bringing people together. I still wonder what was going through the heads of
some people when they dropped the game for good. Maybe they just felt sick of
the people or felt like they had bigger things waiting for them elsewhere. For
me, I'm hoping to wrap this up so I can get back to college and IRL shit. I want
to leave the game in a better state than I found it. Or at least, try to.
